VFS Global Cairo Guide for Sweden Visa

VFS Global Cairo is the submission centre for Sweden Schengen visa applications from Egypt. All biometrics and documents are submitted here. Appointment booking is required in advance, Veeza handles this automatically.

VFS Global Cairo location

VFS Global operates Sweden visa centres in Cairo, Alexandria, El Sheikh Zayed, and El Tagamoa El Khames. Most applicants use the Tagamoa branch (el_tagamoa), which is Veeza's default. Alexandria residents should select alexandria during application. Exact address and hours are confirmed in your appointment email.

What to bring on appointment day

  • Original passport + copy of every page.
  • Old passport if it has any previous Schengen visas.
  • Completed visa application form (Veeza prepares this).
  • 2 recent biometric photos 35x45mm.
  • Flight and hotel bookings.
  • Bank statements (stamped) for last 3 months.
  • Employment letter or business registration.
  • Schengen travel insurance certificate.
  • National ID card copy.
  • Cash for fees: EGP 942 VFS centre fee plus ~EGP 5,000 consulate visa fee.
  • Printed appointment confirmation email.

What happens at your appointment

  1. Check-in with appointment confirmation + passport.
  2. Document submission to the agent, quick review.
  3. Pay fees (cash).
  4. Biometrics: 10 fingerprints + biometric photo.
  5. Receive a tracking receipt with reference number.
  6. Total appointment usually takes 15-30 minutes.

After your appointment

Track your application on the VFS Global site using the receipt reference number. Decision typically in 15 calendar days, up to 45 in peak season. Once decided, VFS emails you to collect your passport or request it be couriered to you.

  • Courier Return: passport returned to you by courier instead of collection.
